Welcome to the DSA 2026 Summer School Schedule, taking place from 20–24 July 2026 at the historic Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.

We are pleased to announce the Data Science Africa 2026 Summer School, an intensive 3-day program designed to equip students and early-career researchers with practical and theoretical foundations in modern data science.

The DSA 2025 Summer School was designed for graduate students, researchers, and professionals working with large-scale or unique datasets. This intensive program, featured both introductory and advanced lectures in data science and machine learning, as well as hands-on practical sessions. Participants gained valuable experience in data wrangling, data munging, and applying cutting-edge machine learning techniques to derive insights from data.

In the tradition of previous Data Science Africa (DSA) events, a summer school on machine learning and data science was held prior to the main workshop. The DSA 2024 Nyeri Summer School was hosted by Dedan Kimathi University of Technology in Nyeri, from 3rd to 5th June 2024. The summer school focused on graduate students, researchers, and professionals working with large datasets or unique data challenges.
